Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive and experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's Environmental Management System (EMS) and Workplace Safety Program. Key Responsibilities: Implement and maintain environmental, health and safety policies, procedures, SOPs, and emergency response programs. Ensure compliance with environmental and occupational safety legislation, ISO 14001:2015 requirements, and company standards. Conduct environmental and safety audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Manage environmental permits, licenses, regulatory reporting, and relationships with agencies such as NEMA and DOSH. Oversee pharmaceutical waste management, chemical safety, environmental monitoring, and compliance activities. Coordinate EHS training programs and promote employee awareness on environmental and workplace safety matters. Monitor safety infrastructure, PPE compliance, contractor safety, and emergency preparedness systems. Track environmental and safety performance KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Science, or a related field. Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental Management. Minimum of 3 years' experience in an EHS role. Practical experience implementing and maintaining ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems. Strong knowledge of Kenyan environmental and occupational health & safety legislation. NEBOSH IGC/Diploma and ISO 14001:2015 Internal Auditor training will be an added advantage. Experience within a pharmaceutical/manufacturing environment is desirable. Key Competencies: Excellent communication, training and presentation skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving and report-writing abilities. High attention to detail and regulatory compliance focus. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills. Crisis management skills for environmental and safety emergencies.

Active KISM membership or eligibility for professional registration. Good knowledge of procurement controls, inventory management and FEFO principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement, ERP or inventory-management systems. Strong negotiation, analytical, communication and record-management skills. High integrity and ability to work independently. Added advantage CPSP-K, CIPS or another recognised procurement qualification. Experience supervising procurement staff. Evidence of delivering measurable savings, reducing stock-outs or improving supplier performance. Performance expectations The successful candidate will be assessed on cost savings, stock availability, procurement turnaround time, reduction of emergency purchases and expiries, supplier performance, inventory accuracy and procurement compliance.
