Job Summary: The Store Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily store operations, leading a team of Retail Associates, achieving both individual and store sales targets, managing inventory and driving the store's marketing and business development initiatives. The Store Supervisor ensures efficient stock control, provides leadership and performance management and supports customer satisfaction. The Store Supervisor also plays a key role in expanding B2B partnerships and executing store-level strategies to promote growth. Key Responsibilities Sales and Revenue Management Achieve individual monthly sales targets and support the team in achieving collective store sales goals. Guide, motivate and support team members to improve sales performance. Monitor sales trends and conduct analysis to identify areas for improvement. Implement strategies to maximize in-store and online sales. Team Leadership and Performance Management Provide leadership and support to Retail Associates, fostering a collaborative work environment. Conduct monthly performance reviews for all team members. Onboard and train new employees on company policies, procedures, expectations and product knowledge. Serve as the point of contact for resolving staff concerns and operational challenges. Facilitate monthly one-on-one check-ins and development planning with team members. Inventory and Stock Control Oversee stock control processes, including receiving and recording new inventory. Supervise monthly stock-taking of products from Kenyan vendors and general merchandise. Monitor inventory levels and ensure accurate inventory records for both in-store and e-commerce platforms. Coordinate restocking and collaborate with central inventory teams as needed. Reporting and Administrative Tasks Prepare and submit detailed monthly reports, including: Weekly sales summaries Campaign performance and effectiveness Inventory movement Staff progress and development notes Proposed areas for improvement and strategy recommendations Record stock updates from Kenyan authors and vendors. Create content such as quotes for bookmarks and branded material. Communicate and follow up on store maintenance, repairs or restocking of basic store supplies. Marketing and Campaign Management Identify marketing opportunities specific to the store's location and audience. Lead the planning and execution of in-store campaigns and seasonal promotions. Collaborate with the marketing department to promote campaigns across relevant platforms. Monitor customer engagement and gather feedback for campaign improvement. Business-to-Business (B2B) Development Develop and maintain relationships with schools, institutions and other potential B2B clients. Identify new B2B opportunities and support the implementation of outreach strategies. Track and report on B2B interactions and sales performance. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Achievement of individual and store sales targets Accuracy and timeliness of monthly and campaign reports Staff productivity and retention Inventory variance and control effectiveness B2B growth and client engagement Effectiveness of store marketing and campaign initiatives Store operational efficiency and customer satisfaction Minimum Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related field Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or team lead role within a retail or similar environment Proficiency in POS systems, inventory management tools, and basic reporting software Competencies and Skills Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize workload Customer service orientation and conflict resolution skills Initiative, dependability, and problem-solving capabilities Creativity and familiarity with store merchandising and branding Working Conditions Must be available to work weekends and public holidays as scheduled Occasional local travel may be required for marketing events or B2B engagement Must be physically able to stand for extended periods and assist with light stock movement when necessary
