JOB PURPOSE The Investment Assistant is responsible for providing operational, analytical and administrative support to the Investments function through investment data management, portfolio monitoring, investment reporting, research support, reconciliation of investment records and maintenance of investment documentation. The position serves as an entry-level professional role within the Investments function and provides an opportunity for development of future investment professionals through structured learning and practical exposure to pension fund investment management. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Investment Operations Support Maintain accurate investment records and databases. Update portfolio performance information and investment monitoring schedules. Assist in reconciliation of investment transactions and investment accounts. Support maintenance of investment registers and investment files. Assist in tracking investment maturities, coupon payments, dividends and other investment income. Monitor settlement of investment transactions and follow up on outstanding matters. Investment Research and Analysis Collect market information and economic data to support investment analysis. Assist in preparation of investment research reports and market updates. Conduct preliminary analysis of investment opportunities and prepare supporting documentation. Support preparation of investment performance reports. Assist in monitoring performance of fund managers and other investment service providers. Investment Reporting Compile investment data for periodic management, committee and board reports. Support preparation of investment dashboards and portfolio reports. Assist in preparation of investment compliance reports. Maintain records of investment decisions and related documentation. Governance and Compliance Assist in monitoring compliance with investment policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Maintain proper custody and filing of investment records. Support implementation of audit recommendations relating to investments. Assist in preparation of information required by regulators, auditors and consultants. Stakeholder Support Liaise with fund managers, custodians, brokers and other service providers on routine operational matters. Assist in responding to investment-related information requests. Support member education initiatives relating to investment matters where required. Other Responsibilities Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Investment Analyst, Senior Investment Officer or Investment & Strategy Manager. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS The position shall be evaluated against, among others, the following indicators: Investment Operations Accuracy of investment records. Timeliness of reconciliations. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Academic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science or another closely related discipline from arecognized university. Professional Qualifications Actively pursuing at least one (1) of the following recognized professional qualifications, or an equivalent recognized professional qualification: CIFA, CFA, CISI, CPA (K), ACCA. About the Role One Acre Fund takes on debt to finance our working capital needs, resulting from purchasing agricultural inputs ahead of time and selling them on credit to farmers. You will join the Investor Relations team, which manages our debt needs, identifies and grows relationships with lenders, and advises on capital structure and liquidity management. The Investor Relations (IR) team is currently a team of 3 people, based in New York & Nairobi, and part of the larger Finance Division. You will report to the Investor Relations Director to independently develop a pipeline of debt investments. Responsibilities Debt Raising: You will source and structure working capital financing deals from African banks and commercial financing actors in our operating countries. You will have an annual deal-making target in the 7-8 figure range (USD or USD equivalent). In particular, you will lead One Acre Fund's innovative financing platform: local currency financing and structured working capital debt products (e.g., BOE, receivables financing) Lead Investor Relations' presence in SSA: You will lead the team's presence in the region, participating in conferences, panels, and relevant investor events, and leading prospect and current investor visits to our operations.
