What You’ll Do: Huntress seeks an experienced leader to elevate our platform engineering teams and deliver the underlying foundation for purpose-built products that protect the 99%. In this role, you’ll be responsible for teams that develop our product platform, which powers our 5 (soon to be 6 and beyond) industry-leading security products. We’re seeking a passionate, inclusive engineering leader who can bring state-of-the-art engineering practices and deep experience in developing teams and people to accelerate our next growth phase. You will lead multiple teams of high-performing engineers, equipped with the latest AI tooling. Responsibilities: Deliver performant, scalable products iteratively, helping your teams balance incremental customer value delivery with long-term product evolution Drive the technical roadmap and best practices for our product platform to enable scalability that will accommodate rapid growth and increased user demand Innovate new uses for AI development tooling and tune current use to be more efficient over time Attract, recruit, and retain top engineering talent Hire and coach engineering managers to continue to build and enable great teams Set clear expectations with your leaders, provide regular feedback, and conduct regular performance conversations to foster a high-performing engineering team Clearly measure engineering performance to make necessary adjustments to team structure and/or processes to increase throughput and efficiency Identify opportunities and implement improvements to both the product and engineering practices and processes to optimize efficiency, quality, and time-to-market Partner with other engineering leaders, product leaders, and architects to ensure our teams and technology are in sync and meet customer needs Collaborate with Huntress’s Architecture, Product Management, and Threat Operations teams to integrate their expertise and needs into our products What You Bring To The Team: 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership building SaaS products in a modern SaaS environment 5+ years of experience at the director level or higher Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar AI development tools Experience and knowledge of best practices for scalable delivery, core platform systems, site reliability engineering, and developer experience Experience developing, evolving, and maintaining high-volume, scalable solutions Deep understanding of organizing engineering teams to deliver customer value iteratively Skilled at hiring, building teams, leading, and coaching managers, and performance management Demonstrated success working with architecture and product management leaders to develop and execute a shared product and technical vision Experience in a fully remote environment What We Offer: 100% remote work environment - since our founding in 2015 Generous paid time off policy, including vacation, sick time, and paid holidays 12 weeks of paid parental leave Highly competitive and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits plans 401(k) with a 5% contribution regardless of employee contribution Life and Disability insurance plans Stock options for all full-time employees One-time $500 reimbursement for building/upgrading home office Annual allowance for education and professional development assistance $75 USD/month digital reimbursement Access to the BetterUp platform for coaching, personal, and professional growth Huntress is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity where every single member of our team is valued, has a voice, and is empowered to come to work every day just as they are. As a Sr. SRE, you will work closely with the key stakeholders in Software Engineering to drive adoption of modern reliability practices like SLOs, error budget policies, actionable alerts, incident retrospectives, chaos testing, and end-to-end ownership. Key Accountabilities: Own production reliability, including availability, latency, performance, capacity planning, monitoring, emergency response, and uptime for production environments. Define, maintain, and improve SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, actionable dashboards, and observability practices. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues that affect service reliability and SLO performance. Build and automate multi-environment observability capabilities, including capacity forecasting based on usage patterns. Reduce toil and increase development velocity through automation and continuous improvement. Provide production support, including incident, change, and problem management; root cause analysis; service restoration; runbooks; and standard operating procedures. Identify data-driven opportunities to improve system architecture, availability, performance, and reliability. Collaborate with software engineering teams on release management, roadmap planning, and operational readiness. Implement and manage reliability and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana. Desired Skills and Experience: Experience with monitoring, APM, and observability tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
