Traffic & Creative Operations Intern at BURN
BURN
Job description
Role Summary The Traffic & Creative Operations Intern supports the Head of Traffic in keeping creative and marketing projects moving smoothly from brief to delivery. The intern will own day-to-day project tracking, follow-ups and documentation, and will carry out first-line quality checks on creative work before it goes for review. It's a hands-on role for someone organised, detail-minded and keen to learn how a creative team runs behind the scenes across Brand, Product, Carbon and Digital marketing. Key Responsibilities Project Tracking & Follow-Ups Keep the project tracking board up to date daily, making sure every job has a clear status, owner and deadline. Follow up with stakeholders on outstanding feedback, approvals and missing inputs. Check in with designers and copywriters on progress and flag anything at risk of slipping. Send the Head of Traffic a short end-of-day update covering what moved, what's stuck and what needs attention. Brief Intake Support Check incoming briefs against the standard intake checklist (market, format, sizes, deadline, copy, approver). Go back to requesters for any missing information before briefs are assigned. Log new requests in the tracker and attach all relevant materials. First-Line Quality Checks Review creative assets before they go to the Head of Traffic, checking for typos, correct sizes and specs, current logos and required legal lines. Confirm that market-specific versions carry the right language, pricing and local details. Batch work for review at set times, with the brief attached to each piece. Turn review feedback into clear action lists for the creative team and check that every point is addressed in the next version. Documentation & File Management Take notes in WIPs, stand-ups and stakeholder check-ins, and circulate decisions and action points afterwards. Keep final files organised by market and product, following naming conventions and version control standards. Maintain records of briefs, approvals and project timelines. Reporting Support Pull together weekly summaries of jobs completed, jobs overdue and turnaround times. Help prepare data for traffic reports and capacity discussions. What We're Looking For A recent graduate or final-year student in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business or a related field. Very well organised, with a strong eye for detail. Clear, confident written and verbal communication, and comfortable following up with people politely but persistently. Good working knowledge of Google Workspace or Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management tools such as ClickUp, Asana or Trello is a plus. An interest in creative work, marketing or operations. Able to manage several tasks at once and stay calm around deadlines. What You'll Gain Hands-on experience running creative operations for a multi-market business across Africa. Exposure to brand, product and carbon marketing work from brief to delivery. Mentorship and practical grounding in traffic and project management.
