LawnStarter: Software Engineering Manager
LawnStarter
Job description
Headquarters: Brazil URL: http://lawnstarter.com About LawnStarter LawnStarter is the nation's leading on-demand marketplace for lawn care and related services, with over $150M in annual bookings. We're expanding beyond lawn care to become the one-stop shop for all outdoor home services - pest control, pool cleaning, window cleaning, and more. About Engineering at LawnStarter Our engineering team builds the platform that connects hundreds of thousands of homeowners with over 70,000 active service pros. We operate three brands (LawnStarter, Lawn Love, HomeGnome) on shared infrastructure, and we're profitable and growing. Engineering here is fast - we ship constantly, we own our systems end-to-end, and we don't tolerate "not my problem." We have strong processes and existing engineering managers, so you're not building from scratch. You're raising the bar. The Role We're growing, and that means adding engineering leadership capacity to support new initiatives. You'll lead cross-functional delivery teams of 4-5 engineers, reporting to our Head of Engineering. Your job is to make sure your team ships reliably, grows professionally, and doesn't become a bottleneck as LawnStarter scales into new service verticals. This is a people-first role. If your identity as an EM is primarily technical - if you'd rather review architecture than develop an underperformer - this isn't the right fit. If you're the manager who knows what every person on your team needs to grow, who handles conflict directly, and who can articulate team performance in metrics, keep reading. What makes this role different: - You'll own both delivery AND people outcomes - neither can be delegated - Distributed team across time zones, so async leadership and written communication matter as much as meetings - We move fast and actually ship - you'll feel the difference between a team that's humming and one that's stuck - AI-forward is not a buzzword here - we expect you to lead your team on how to use it, not just follow along What You'll Own - People development: Concrete growth plans for every IC on your team - not just the struggling ones. You know where each person is going and what it takes to get there. - Delivery: Your team ships on cadence with predictable quality. You surface risk early, manage scope, and don't miss commitments without warning. - Team health: Conflict gets addressed directly. Underperformers are managed with a clear process. Top performers are protected and developed. - Cross-functional partnership: You're the interface between your team and Product, Design, and other engineering teams. Decisions get made, not stalled. - Technical direction: Close enough to the work to weigh in on system design and catch architectural risks. Not so close that you're in the weeds instead of removing blockers. - AI adoption: You're actively introducing AI tools and workflows into how your team operates - code review, documentation, sprint planning, debugging. You set the pace, not follow it. Problems to Solve Building people leadership depth as the team scales LawnStarter is expanding into new service verticals quickly. That means new headcount, new complexity, and more pressure on EMs to develop the next generation of senior engineers and tech leads - not just ship features. We need an EM who's done this before, not one who's figuring it out. Managing distributed teams without losing culture or accountability Our engineering team spans multiple time zones and countries. Async communication, remote 1:1s, and distributed sprint ceremonies are the norm - not a workaround. An EM who needs daily in-person proximity to lead effectively won't thrive here. Turning delivery consistency into a competitive advantage We have product-market fit and real momentum. The constraint now is shipping reliably enough to compound on that momentum. Your team's velocity and predictability directly affects LawnStarter's ability to launch new services and capture market share. Orchestrating cross-functional delivery from roadmap to release An EM here is the connective tissue between Product, Design, and specialist functions - quality engineering, architecture, and security - from estimation through delivery. The hard part isn't running any one of those conversations well; it's running all of them in parallel without becoming the bottleneck they route through. We need an EM who can hold business value and technical soundness in view at once and make the tradeoff calls - not one who stalls when Product wants speed, Security wants rigor, and Architecture wants the durable answer. Turning AI adoption into throughput without sacrificing craftsmanship We're not experimenting with AI on the margins. Claude Code, spec-driven development, and AI-assisted review are becoming default workflows here - and we track adoption seriously. We need an EM who can turn "the team uses AI" into measurable throughput without letting quality slip, with real opinions about where AI helps and where it quietly creates debt. What Success Looks Like (Year 1) - Every engineer on your team has a documented growth plan within 60 days - and you can speak to it from memory - Your team ships its committed scope on cadence within 90 days - Zero surprise departures - you know your retention risks and are actively working them - Underperformance is addressed directly and documented, not deferred - The Head of Engineering trusts your team's commitments because you've proven they're reliable - Your team is visibly more AI-enabled than when you joined - new tools adopted, old manual tasks automated, engineers unblocked faster Requirements Who You Are Deeply AI-integrated, not just AI-aware. You've gone well past "I use ChatGPT to write emails." Your engineers expect you to bring new AI workflows to the team - you've used Claude to accelerate code review, built prompts that help engineers write sharper tickets, or led your team's adoption of Copil

We want 6sense to be the best chapter of your career. Product Lead, AI Platform Are you a technical powerhouse who also loves building and mentoring high-performing teams? At 6sense, we are architecting the definitive intelligence layer for B2B—the reasoning engine that powers the world’s most sophisticated revenue organizations—and that transformation requires a foundational infrastructure where AI-driven reasoning powers every workflow. We are looking for a Product Lead to own our AI OS: the underlying operating system and orchestration engine that enables every product team at 6sense to build secure, reliable, and highly intelligent agentic experiences. This is a Player/Coach role. You will be hands-on leading our core AI infrastructure while simultaneously serving as the people manager and program leader for a specialized pod of Product Managers. You aren't just managing a backlog; you are defining the architectural standards for how 6sense builds and ships AI at scale. Why 6sense? AI That Builds Pipe, Not Hype: Our Revenue AI™ identifies accounts ready to buy, crafts the right message, and qualifies meetings automatically. We don’t just surface data—we deliver intelligence and action. Crack the Dark Funnel™: Less than 3% of buyers engage early. We uncover hidden buying signals, decode the “breadcrumb trails,” and help revenue teams connect with buyers in ways they never could before. Orchestrate the Full Journey: From dynamic audience creation to multi-channel engagement, we empower marketers to reach the right accounts, at the right time, with the right message—across advertising, email, web, and sales. Arm Operations Teams: Integrate insights, centralize audience creation, and maximize impact by connecting 6sense with your tech stack. We’re the single canvas for your entire GTM strategy. Your Impact As Product Lead, AI Platform, you will: Lead and Scale a High-Performing Pod. Act as a formal people manager, responsible for hiring, coaching, and developing a specialized team of PMs. You will define the pod's operating model, ensuring clear boundaries between platform infrastructure and agentic capabilities. Own the AI Orchestration Layer. Personally drive the design and evolution of our core orchestration engine, ensuring robust state management, tenant routing, and high-performance runtime for intelligent workflows. Modernize the Developer Experience. Design and maintain the internal SDKs and capability registration patterns that allow other teams to build, register, and call intelligence tools within the AI OS. Define Evaluation and Trust Standards. Build the frameworks, guardrails, and security protocols that ensure our AI outputs remain accurate, evidenced, and enterprise-grade across the entire platform. Lead Foundational Model Strategy. Drive our model strategy, including routing logic, cost optimization, and compute infrastructure management to maximize both performance and efficiency. Be a Strategic Partner to Leadership. Act as a force multiplier for the Head of Intelligence Product—surfacing technical risks early, driving clarity in platform architecture, and turning AI strategy into operating reality. Strategic Themes You'll Drive The Infrastructure of Reasoning. Shift the organization from hard-coded logic to a dynamic orchestration model, providing the "plumbing" that makes multi-step agentic tasks possible. Contract-First Platform Development. Define the technical contracts that allow teams to consume AI capabilities in a self-serve, standardized manner. Platform Efficiency & Scalability. Ensure the AI OS is built for enterprise scale, managing the balance between rapid innovation and the rigorous demands of global B2B environments. What You'll Bring People Leadership. Proven experience building and leading product teams. You know how to mentor senior PMs, manage performance, and create environments where technical builders thrive. Technical Mastery. Deep, hands-on expertise with the modern AI stack. You’ve personally architected orchestration layers, developer platforms, or complex distributed systems at scale—not just sponsored the work. Operating Rigor. You build operating rhythms that scale, drive clarity in ambiguous environments, and turn messy cross-team dependencies into clean execution. Systems Thinking. You see the whole system—strategy, org, data, and execution—and know which lever to pull when something is stuck. Experience. 8-10+ years in Product Management, with a focus on AI, Platform, or Infrastructure, including 3-5+ years of formal people management experience in a high-growth environment. Why You’ll Love This Role Impact: You are architecting the Foundational AI Operating System of 6sense—the underlying infrastructure that every other agentic workflow across the company relies on to function. Innovation: You get to define the technical standards for agent orchestration and model routing at enterprise scale, solving infrastructure challenges most companies haven't even encountered yet. Growth: Join a rocket ship, learn every day, and accelerate your career in a collaborative, high-energy environment. Fun: We take our work seriously, but not ourselves. Expect GIFs, puns, and the occasional ABM meme. Base Salary Range: $197,997.50 - $260,863.00. The base salary

Reports To Vice President, Sales – Public, Fleet & Auto What You Will Be Doing This role owns two connected functions: strategic account management for a portfolio of top-tier public charging accounts (quota carrying), and segment blueprint creation — structured, evidence-based playbooks for each priority public charging segment (CPOs of all types & Retail and Destination) that capture customer economics, procurement behavior, technical requirements, and competitive dynamics. The blueprints are not a static reference document — they are the primary mechanism for feeding validated, field-tested segment intelligence into Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing, so those functions build roadmap, positioning, and regulatory strategy around real account behavior rather than assumption. The person in this seat reports to the Vice President of Sales, North America and acts as the connective tissue between account-level reality and company-level decisions. What You Will Bring to ChargePoint Segment Blueprint Creation Build and own segment-specific blueprints (CPO & Retail) that document customer economics, procurement patterns, technical/product requirements, and competitive positioning within each segment Translate blueprint findings into structured inputs for four functions: Product (feature and roadmap priorities), Policy (regulatory and incentive positioning), R&D (technical requirements), and Marketing (positioning and messaging). Own this as a standing feedback loop with defined cadence, not a one-time handoff Generate new growth with major market movers within each sub-segment Maintain and refresh blueprints against market, competitive, and policy shifts; define and track KPIs that indicate segment traction and blueprint accuracy Strategic Account Management Own relationships for a portfolio of top-tier public charging accounts; be the primary point of accountability for account health, growth, and retention Lead negotiation and contract structuring for major, complex, multi-year agreements Drive footprint expansion within key public charging accounts, deepening existing relationships to secure large, repeat business Coordinate cross-functional pursuit teams (sales, marketing, legal, finance, product) on major RFPs and large bids, using blueprint data to sharpen proposal strategy Cross-Functional Enablement Act as the primary conduit from account and field intelligence into Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing — accountable for ensuring blueprint insight measurably changes what gets built, priced, and messaged, not just that it gets reported Provide business case analysis, financial modeling, and ROI assessments to support major pursuits and investment decisions Track performance of segment strategies against plan; adjust blueprints and account plans as the market evolves Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA a plus 10–15 years of experience in business development, strategic account management, or strategic planning, with at least 5 years managing multi-regional field sales teams; EV, energy, or technology sector background required, with public charging market exposure strongly preferred Skilled at building executive-ready presentations (PowerPoint) that translate complex data into clear narratives for internal and external stakeholder Comfortable leveraging AI and automation tools to accelerate research, analysis, and content development Strong analytical and financial modeling skills Track record of building and managing top-tier commercial relationships, and of translating account-level insight into cross-functional influence with Product, Policy, R&D, and Marketing Ability to think strategically and act operationally — able to convert high-level goals into segment blueprints and account plans that other functions can act on directly Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and presenting findings to internal stakeholders and leadership In-depth understanding of the e-mobility industry, public charging infrastructure, and energy markets highly preferred Willingness to travel domestically as business needs require Location Atlanta, Los Angeles, Campbell, Phoenix We are committed to an inclusive and diverse team.
